I agree. If a woman hauls off and hits a man, she should expect that there is a good chance that she will be hit back. Retaliation is instinct. If a mosquito bites you you slap your arm, if you stump your toe you grab it. If someone hits you, you hit back. That is just the way it is. I agree with you. I actually have a similar background. Lost a relative and a friend to domestic violence. And in both situations it was unprovoked DV.

I also work with DV victims. People need to understand that some of these situations are escalated because the perceived victim, actually is the REAL instigator. And that needs to be addressed.

Stop excusing women hitting on men…it is not going to put any woman in a good place if you do so. It may actually end in her suffering real and violent consequences. Make sure you teach your children and young people that it is not ok to act violently and not bear the burden of that violence.

The only thing I can agree with Chrissy on is that men are (generally) stronger than women. That should tell you to keep your hands to yourself.

You are so right – if someone has a cold sore or are developing one (and that shyt hangs around for a couple of weeks) and gave her man a little oral pleasure anytime during that time, they could pass on herpes and the guy could then have genital herpes.

It might manifest itself in a couple of weeks,… it might not show up for months, they could get it from a previous partner or from mixing their partners and not have any symptoms show up for weeks or years, then when it does show up, whomever they are with at that time would be blamed.

Probably happens a lot more than you might think… considering about 50 to 80% of the adult USA population supposedly has been exposed to or has oral herpes/cold sores by the age of 50. A lot of people are asymptomatic/they just have no symptoms and/or its dormant. It’s not a blood borne virus, so you can’t say “I gave blood, so I must not have it”.

So while I hope it isn’t true, if it is, it could have come from anyone, he could have had it and it was dormant, he could have gave it to her orally, then she gave it back to him… too many variables there… if it’s true, they both need some serious damage control and a doctor.

For you who are saying “once you go white, herpes is in sight”….sorry boo, but Blacks have a higher rate for Herpes. Oh, and condoms reduce your risk but only SLIGHTLY. Sores DO NOT have to be visible in order to pass the virus. A lot of women get “internal outbreaks” and don’t even know, and a lot of men just go scratchin down there “thinking” that it is just irritation, and have NO idea.

R&B superstar Chris Brown has reportedly turned himself in to police after being sought for allegedly being involved in a physical dispute with his girlfriend Rihanna on the day they were set to perform at the Grammys.

The police say the singer turned himself in after the couple skipped their Grammy performances.

R&B singer Chris Brown has been booked tonight on suspicion of making felony criminal threats in connection with an incident involving his girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna, according to Los Angeles Police Department sources familiar with the case. Brown was being booked at the Wilshire Division station and is expected to post $50,000 bail, sources said. The incident took place while in California prior to this evening’s Grammy ceremony.

Los Angeles police say they’re investigating an alleged domestic violence felony battery report involving Chris Brown. The police department says in a release the 19-year-old singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood early Sunday when they began arguing. (Associated Press)

Brown and the unnamed woman were pulled over by police.

“After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated,” the LAPD said. “The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker.” The LAPD received a 911 call reporting the disturbance and according to the statement, when officers arrived they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene. The singer is now being sought by police for a felony charge.

As for why this case is being investigated as a felony and not a misdemeanor, Officer Karen Smith explained “because there was visible injury on the victim. I don’t by the whole herpes story. It is speculation. Bossip is always badmouthing Rihanna. Secondly if she does have herpes, it probably cause he gave it to her. He seems like the type to sleep around with any and everyone. if she has it, it’s probably from going down on him. However, I still dont by the story.

A black eye and busted nose will heal, Herpes IS PERMANENT! If this allegation is true, i feel for Chris Brown, this is a disease that he possibly has to deal with all his life.

I don’t believe for one minute that Chris Brown is going to serve any real time and I don’t think he should.

That is not to say he shouldn’t be punished in some form but not jail time for a first offense and for a kid who as far as we know has never been in trouble with the law.

I think it was dispicable what he did to Rih even if she provoked it. I mean he is like 6’2″ and 195lbs. If she was getting on his nerve that much or if she was even whacking the sh*t out of him he would have been better off throwing her out the moving car, at least she would have had less injuries.

As for Rih, she needs to take stock of herself and try and figure out what if anything she did to heightened the situation. If the man don’t want you anymore, he doesn’t want you but when you’re in love with someone who may no longer love you back, walking away is sometimes easier said than done.

As for the Herpes, well I don’t know. I wasn’t there but what I do know is that a cold sore does not equal a sexually transmitted disease like what most of the gossip columnist and radio personalities are leading people to believe. They know this too but they don’t clarify because it gets people to listen and to read. Ratings go up and magazines sell. However, I am afraid the misinformation might get someone killed.

Herpes I = Cold Sore. They may be nasty looking and ugly but it is not a sexually transmitted disease. Most of the public has been exposed to this but it lays dormant in the system of most. It is easy to catch that’s why children as young as two have have been reported to have it. You use someone’s lipstick who has it and you can catch it. It may not be active in her so she never gets cold sores but something in your body is different and you do. Borrow a friend’s cell phone to make a call and you can pick it up. Someone coughs or sneezes in your face and you can pick it up but you may never know you were exposed if you never develop a cold sore because it never becomes active in your system not even when your under stress or your immune system is lower than normal like when you have a cold.

Herpes II = Sexually transmitted disease. You get by having sex with someone who is infected with the Herpes II virus. While you won’t die from this, it could make having a sexual relationship with someone very difficult because not many people want to deal with all that comes with this particular std and there is no medication to make it go away like with syphilis or gonorrhea. This is a gift for life and it also weakens your immune system to the point where if you come into sexual contact with someone infect with HIV, your body will become more susceptible to picking up that virus, as well.

I say all that to say, Rih could very well have the sexually transmitted Herpes and she may not (I don’t think so). I don’t know either way but the cold sore on her lip only indicates that she has the Herpes I virus or the virus that causes cold sores and when she’s under stress or has a cold she may have a break out but that cold sore is know indication of Herpes II.
