According to Livesteez, the Obama Camp has asked that the entertainers to stay the hell back right now:

Unfortunately, some of Barack Obama’s biggest backers won’t be in attendance tonight for his historical celebratory meeting. The Obama campaign has reportedly asked some of his famous supporters to stay away from his rally Tuesday night in Chicago’s Grant Park, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Although the campaign is reportedly grateful for the high-profile support, several prominent celebs have reportedly been asked “politely but very firmly” to skip the rally and focus on attending the Obama inauguration in January, should that occur, as reported by MTV.com. An Obama insider reportedly told the newspaper’s Bill Zwecker that Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and Ben Affleck were among those asked to stay away from tonight’s festivities. “There really only needs to be one star in Grant Park, and that’s Barack,” the insider reportedly said. “There will be plenty of time for a new President Obama to be surrounded by famous fans, all hopeful about a new administration.” However, the paper reported that early Obama supporter Oprah Winfrey is confirmed to make an appearance at the rally in Grant Park. It is also expected that Winfrey will be with Obama as well as his family and inner circle throughout the night at their hotel in Chicago.

YES WE CAN!!

Fall back right now fam. A lot of you bandwagon celebrities only stepped up when it looked like Barack was going to win, when it was “safe and cool”. SMH.

A host of friends, family, and celebrities came out to support Jennifer Hudson and her remaining immediate family:

As Jennifer Hudson attempts to cope with the monstrous tragedy that recently befell her family, the Oscar-winner has been kept afloat by an outpouring of support from famous friends. On Monday afternoon on Chicago’s South Side, Beyoncé, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Fantasia, Missy Elliot, Patti LaBelle and Queen Latifah were among the 450 mourners packing the pews of the Apostolic Church of God for the memorial ceremony to celebrate the life — and mourn the loss of — Jennifer’s mother Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason, and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, who, according to a family friend, all looked “peaceful and well-rested” in their open caskets. Also on hand for the service was Chicago native Oprah Winfrey, who opened up her home to the grieving star. “Jennifer has been staying at Oprah’s East Lake Shore Drive condo,” a source tells OK!.”There’s plenty of privacy and security there for the heartbroken performer.” After following a procession of three hearses and a horse-drawn trolley carrying the child’s coffin, Jennifer entered the church with her fiancé, David Otunga. “She walked in the church with David,” an eyewitness tells OK!. “He was at her side the entire service, wiping her tears and holding her. Jennifer looked equally in shock and mournful throughout the service, but managed a smile when speakers shared their memories of her family.” “Jennifer looked upset but managed to keep herself together,” a friend tells OK!. The 27-year-old shared the front row with Julian’s mother, Julia, and comforted her sister as she “cried the loudest of anyone.” Despite the difficulties of saying goodbye, Jennifer, 27, and Julia, 31, experienced some uplifting moments. “Jennifer managed a smile when speakers shared their memories of her family,” adds the insider, “and Fantasia brought the house down with her singing.”

We pray that this joyous homegoing service helps to bring closure to the gaping wound left by this miserable tragedy. Hopefully the family will soon be able to focus on the love and not the pain.

Oprah is living out Biggie’s famous words. Livesteez is reporting that another nut job is trying to sue her, this time for $180 million:

Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey is being sued by a Louisiana man for $180 million, after claims the popular talk show host gave false statements to the FBI, which led to his being arrested in 2006. Keifer Bonvillain says that he was wrongfully accused of attempting to extort Winfrey. Bonvillain was arrested in December at his home in Houma, after allegedly recording a phone conversation with one of Winfrey’s production company employees and saying he wanted to publish a book using the information from the recorded material, as reported by Vibe.com.

When New York heard that Jennifer Hudson and Punk were engaged, she slung some rather less than subvert insults at your girl:

Don’t expect Tiffany “New York” Pollard to be invited to her former fling David Otunga’s wedding to Jennifer Hudson. The New York Goes To Hollywood star says she’s skeptical about the Dreamgirls actress’ engagement to Harvard Law School grad David, who competed for Tiffany’s affections on I Love New York 2 under the name Punk. “He’s really loving being Mr. Jennifer Hudson. I think he’s loving the lavish things she brings to his life, he’s seeing the world due to Jennifer’s success,” Tiffany tells In Touch. “[But] can you love this person if they lose all of this tomorrow? She needs to find out. I just hope people are marrying each other for the right reasons.” New York’s not optimistic about the couple’s future. “It’s a mixed match, it won’t work,” she says. “He’ll be in her shadow like Al Reynolds was to Star Jones, like Stedman Graham is to Oprah.” There’s also a good reason David wasn’t the right match for Tiffany on I Love New York 2. “When we were in Miami together, he didn’t even try anything [on me]!” she says. “Maybe I wasn’t his type, maybe I wasn’t big enough for him.” “His heart is way big,” Tiffany says of David, who proposed to Jennifer after dating less than a year. “Two weeks ago, I ran into [Jennifer and David] and I didn’t say much,” reveals Tiffany. “I said ‘Goodbye, Punk!’ and she looked at me like ‘What!’ I know his name’s David, but I call him Punk.”

It’s incredibly unsettling, but we might have to agree with New York on this one. Punk stays whoring it up for publicity. He’s proven that he’ll do anything to be seen by pushing all up on New York’s greasy basketball tittays. On that note, we hope JHud had his ass tested.

Madea’s alter ego, Tyler Perry, just made Oprah cry by becoming the first African-American person in history to own a major TV and film studio.

History was made Saturday night, when Tyler Perry became the first African-American ever to launch his own major TV and film studio. [...]A New Orleans native with a troubled childhood, Perry, 39, credited all of his guests with inspiring his life. Of Winfrey, who attended the celebration with longtime beau Stedman Graham and best friend Gayle King, Perry said, “She owns her life. I am learning that. I never would have shown this to people a few years ago. I was embarrassed by the success.” At one point, Perry unveiled a special surprise for veteran trailblazers Poitier, Dee and Tyson: each now has a soundstage named after him and her. “Is this my wall?” joked Poitier – as Winfrey dissolved into tears.

Say what you want about Madea being a minstrel act, but Tyler Perry’s got them Hollyweird folk eating out of palm of his hands.

Mariah Carey is not pregnant:

Oprah Winfrey has denied reports that Mariah Carey canceled an appearance on her chat show where she was due to announce her alleged pregnancy. According to reports Mimi was booked for an appearance on the show to reveal that she is expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon. The pair wed in April after a whirlwind romance and rumors have since been rife that the Hero singer is expecting. However, a representative from Oprah’s production company has stated that there are no plans to have Carey or Cannon on the show any time in the near future. A spokesperson for Mariah has also denied that the star is pregnant.

The day these two actually reproduce is going to be quite entertaining though, just imagine what the kid will be like…

Many were amazed by Barack Obama’s speech last night, Oprah especially:

“I cried my eyelashes off,” she said in the bowels of Invesco Field, moments after Obama accepted the nomination for president before an estimated 84,000 people. “I think it’s the most powerful thing I have ever experienced,” she added, calling Obama’s words “transcendent.” On the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a Dream Speech,” Winfrey compared Obama’s words to those of the civil-rights leader, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

“He’s not an African-American candidate,” she said. “He’s a candidate for Americans.” Winfrey threw her support behind Obama early — even before the Democratic primaries got under way last year. She’s stayed active since, hosting rallies and fundraisers that even Obama has acknowledged have given him a boost.

The stars came out in full force to attend Nelson Mandela’s birthday dinner in Hyde Park, London, today. Denzel Washington was joined by Oprah, Will & Jada, and many more to help usher in Mandela’s 90th birthday.

On a sour note, according to the NY Daily News, Naomi Campbell, who has claimed Mandela is her “honanrary grandfather”, won’t be appearing onstage during an AIDS fundraising event that will go down on Friday. Here’s why:

“The concert, to celebrate Mandela’s upcoming 90th birthday, will raise funds for the 46664 AIDS charity organized by the revered figure. The five-digit number was Mandela’s inmate ID during his 27 years in prison under apartheid. Mandela was upset because Campbell was arrested for assaulting two police officers while wearing a baseball cap with the 46664 logo. Mandela felt the arrest was at odds with his charity’s goals,”
