38-Year-Old Baby Skeleton Found Inside Woman’s Body

How are you feeling right now? Do you have a little stomach pain? In that case, you may want to get yourself to a doctor because you could have a 38-year-old baby skeleton camping out in your abdomen. Sixty-two-year-old Jyoti Kumar did.

Kumar, from central India, had an ectopic pregnancy when she was 24. Dr. Mohammad Yunus Shah told the Daily Mail, “She apparently knew that the baby had died and that she would need an operation, and we gathered she got scared at the prospect of surgery and so went away to her village without undergoing the operation.” Shah and other doctors think Kumar’s is the longest ectopic pregnancy ever recorded.

Kumar went to the doctor complaining of stomach pain recently. Here’s what Shah and his team found when they operated:

Shah says the skeleton (obviously) matured beyond the fetus stage. The Mail reports:

The team of surgeons discovered a mass containing a matured skeleton encapsulated in a calcified sac. The mass was found between the uterus, the intestines and bladder, densely stuck to all the organs. “The amniotic fluid that protects the fetus might have been absorbed and the soft tissues liquefied over time with only a bag of bones with some fluid remaining,” Shah said.
