Celebrity Nicknames Revealed

You ever want to know where a few common celebrity nicknames actually came from? Here are some little-known explanations for them. Now you know and knowing is half the battle.

Whoopi Goldberg – She got the name for the way she would have to go #2 during shows and, well, things started to sound like whoopee cushions.

Jay-Z – He was called “Jazzy” on his block because he was an “old soul”…next thing you know that changed to Jay-Z.

Vanilla Ice – He used to breakdance and spin on cardboard and all the Black guys he danced with called him Vanilla Ice.

O.J. Simpson – His nickname is “juice” because his teammates thought his initials stood for “orange juice.”

Kordell Stewart – He’s called “Slash” for how he used to play a ton of positions in the NFL when he started.

DMX – He saw “DMX” on the side of a beat machine and wanted to go with it…then that turned to Dark Man X.

Jennifer Garner – She grew up with her family calling her “Puppy.”

Kim Kardashian – Khloe and Kris called her Jorge growing up.

Michael Jackson – He signed a letter before he died as “Turd”…and no one has a clue where that came from.

Miley Cyrus – Her dad called her Smiley all the time so she adopted it and just used “Miley.”
