Brett Ratner Denies Romance With Mariah Carey

Nick Cannon recently revealed he’s dating model Jessica White but it turns out Mariah isn’t moving on quite as fast — at least not with director Brett Ratner.

According to E!Online reports:

Speculation spread like wildfire about three weeks ago that the director and Nick Cannon’s ex were dating after they were spotted shopping together in St. Barts followed by a joint birthday celebration.

“We’re great friends,” Ratner told me last night at the L.A. premiere of the new HBO documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck. “I’m directing her video. I’ve been friends with her for 20 years.”

Ratner wasn’t too rattled by the false gossip.

“It makes me laugh actually,” he said. “It cracks me up. We’re great friends. She’s awesome and she’s amazing.”

Carey and Cannon split in August after six years of marriage.

The songbird’s Las Vegas residency kicks off next month at The Coliseum at Caesars Palace.

“I have hope that fans will enjoy this, because I’m going to be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1’s,” Carey told Ellen DeGeneres when she announced the new gig in January. “Hopefully, other people will enjoy this. I’ve never done this before.”

The Grammy-winner has also signed a deal to return to Sony Music with L.A. Reid at Epic Records.

Meanwhile, Cannon has moved on from the breakup with model Jessica White. The two were first linked in early March.

Is it bad that we’re secretly relieved Mariah isn’t dating Brett Ratner? He just seemed a little skeezy for her and we were hoping she’d step her standards UP after Nick.
