Who Is Marilyn Mosby?

Marilyn J. Mosby is the State Prosecutor who successfully charged the six officers involved in Freddie Gray’s death.

Mosby’s eloquent speech and message to her fellow “young people” has garnered her nationwide adulation as we wait to see if the Justice system will finally work in our favor and bring down guilty verdicts.

But just who is this civil servant giving hope to all those who truly believe black lives matter???

Hit the flip.

Marilyn J. Mosby is a 35-year-old born in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.

In high school she served on SGA and was co-editor of the school paper.

She has five generations of police officers in her family.

Via MSNBC:

“My grandfather, my uncles, my mother, my father — I have five generations of police officers. I know that the majority of police officers are really hard-working officers who are risking their lives day in and day out, but those really bad ones who go rogue do a disservice to the officers who are risking their lives and taking time away from their families,” she told Baltimore Magazine.

Mosby’s interest in justice was piqued after her cousin was mistaken for a drug dealer and killed.

Via MSNBC:

When she was growing up in inner-city Boston, her 17-year-old cousin was mistaken for a drug dealer and killed outside her home by another 17-year-old.

She’s a Tuskegee University alum.

Mosby attended Tuskegee and met her husband there while studying political science.

She graduated, magna cum laude and that same year, she was awarded the Council On Legal Educational Opportunity (CLEO) Thurgood Marshall Scholarship.

Speaking of her husband, he’s Baltimore City councilman Nick Mosby who absolutely schooled SCHOOLED this Fox news reporter who wanted to focus on riots instead of the cause of them.
