Cops In Alabama Allegedly Planted Weapons And Drugs On Black Suspects

This story was originally posted December 2, 2015 and has been corrected and updated for January 12, 2016.

A watchdog website that specializes on alleged police scandal and alleged police misconduct claims to have received documents from the Alabama Justice Project that showed the department had allegedly planted drugs and weapons on African American suspects.

The watchdog group allegedly obtained documents that show a Dothan Police Department’s Internal Affairs investigation was allegedly covered up by the local district attorney. A group of up to a dozen police cops on a special narcotics team allegedly planted drugs and weapons on African American men for several years.

According to the documents by the watchdog group all of the officers were allegedly members of a “Neoconfederate” organization.

The alleged documents revealed that the internal affairs investigation was allegedly covered up to protect police officers’ law enforcement careers as well as keep them from being criminally prosecuted in court.

The investigation allegedly discovered that most of Black men prosecuted were sentenced to prison, and some are still in prison. Also, many of the officers who were allegedly involved were later promoted and are currently in positions of leadership in law enforcement.

What do you guys think?? Do you think many police departments across the country are notorious for planting evidence against certain segments of people?
