Manhattan Penthouse Can Be Yours For $29,500 A Month
Mogul Russell Simmons has listed his New York penthouse for rent – at the price of $30k a month – after the luxury home sat on the market for years without a buyer.
Simmons’ five-bedroom, four-bathroom, 7,175 sq. ft. penthouse features a “private landing (that) leads you to phenomenal entertaining areas, living room, dining room, screening room, huge chef’s kitchen with breakfast room, library with gas fireplace” … and many other amenities in the Financial District building.
He listed the home for $11 million back in 2012 but got no bites. Then he took it off the market only to re-list the pad in 2013 for the same amount. Months later, he slashed the price down to $9 million. However, he must’ve grown tired of waiting for someone to purchase it and decided to list it as a rental at $29,500 a month.
Simmons was also close to selling the penthouse to Diddy prior to September 11th 2001, but the terrorist attacks at the nearby World Trade Center damaged the home and the deal never went through.
