Delonte West

New Problems For Troubled Former NBA Star

Delonte West may lose his suburban Maryland to foreclosure after falling nearly $45,000 behind on the mortgage, BOSSIP can reveal.

West’s mortgagee Ventures Trust sued the troubled former NBA player last week, claiming he hadn’t paid the $3,283.14 a month mortgage on the Brandywine, Md. house in nearly two years.

Delonte West's House May End Up In Foreclosure

West bought the property for $400,000 in 2005, using a $450,000 mortgage to help pay for it.

Court docs state West hasn’t made a payment since June 2014, and owes nearly $400,000 on the remaining portion of the mortgage.

If West doesn’t pony up the nearly $45,000 in back mortgage payments to cure the default, Ventures Trust threatened to seize the house and throw him out.

Last week photos emerged of a disheveled looking West wandering outside a Texas fast food restaurant. He was wearing a hospital gown over his shirt and reportedly didn’t have on any shoes.

When a fan asked is he was Delonte West, he reportedly answered, “I used to be, but I’m not about that life anymore.”

Four days after the foreclosure suit was filed, West’s modest, three-bedroom, 2,100 square foot home went up for sale for $315,000.

West’s brother, Dmitri, lives there with his family, and West used the address to register some of his cars. West’s wife, Caressa, is listed as living in another home nearby that West bought in 2008 for $1 million.

BOSSIP’s attempts to reach West Friday were unsuccessful. A phone number listed for the address wasn’t accepting incoming calls.
