According to court documents, Mathis explained that during the course of the lawsuit it’s been proven that Bosh intentionally interfered with her deal for “Basketball Wives” and she demanded he be on the hook for punitive damages as well.

She said Bosh has pursued a calculated pattern of conduct over the years that was done to harass and financially oppress her. Bosh’s baby mama said he is malicious and has attempted to take custody of her daughter away over the years. Also, she said he only pays $2,685 in support despite making millions in the NBA. She said that his interference with her TV deal was another attempt to oppress her, and that was the only real chance she had to make her own money.

But Bosh headed to court Feb 18, blasting his baby mama’s attempt to collect punitive damages. He said that, “Plaintiff, Allison Mathis, is a woman with virtually no career or employment history over her lifetime who filed this lawsuit in mid-June of 2011.”

Bosh explained that he never did anything with malice and truly was attempting to protect his name and likeness from appearing on “Basketball Wives” without his consent. He said his baby mama abused the court system and is attempting to cash in even more by seeking additional damages.

The NBA star demanded her request to amend her complaint to seek punitive damages be denied.

Then on February 25th, the judge held a hearing and came back with his decision on the matter, and sided with the NBA star. The judge shot down Mathis’ motion to amend her complaint to seek punitive damages – which could be worth millions of dollars if she was allowed to sue Bosh for those claims.

The case will continue on, but Bosh won’t have to worry about being hit with punitive damages in the trial.
