No Charges For Angie Stone For Knocking Daughter’s Teeth Out

Soul singer Angie Stone will NOT face criminal charges for allegedly beating the brakes off her daughter during a family fight last year, BOSSIP can reveal.

Last week, a grand jury in DeKalb County, Ga. declined to indict Stone, 54, for assaulting her daughter, Diamond, 30, last March after a mother daughter argument turned physical in the home they shared, officials at Dekalb County Superior Court confirmed to BOSSIP.

Angie was facing domestic aggravated assault charges, but the grand jury nixed moving the case forward to trial even though Angie admitted to cops that she struck Diamond in the face with a metal jewelry stand after yelling at her to get her kids under control, according to their police report.

Diamond suffered broken teeth as a result of the assault.

Diamond told BOSSIP that she has mixed feelings about her mother not facing charges.

“I didn’t want her to go to jail,” Diamond said, “but I thought there would be some type of reprimand.”

Diamond said she has moved on from the incident. She said her relationship with her mother is in a better place, last year she got her two front teeth fixed and she’s now working on her own singing career. But she said she still wishes she and her mother could’ve gone to counseling.

“I just want it to be clear that just because she was not brought up on charges, doesn’t erase what she did,” Diamond told us. “That’s the main thing. I’m okay, my kids are okay. Everybody is doing well. But (I don’t want people to think) because no charges were brought, that it was fictitious, or it wasn’t as bad as it actually was. I don’t want that to be forgotten about.”

We’ve reached out to the DeKalb County District Attorney for comment.

Angie Stone is overseas and could not be reached for comment.
