Page Six has learned that the first few months with newborn son York Banks Asla have been fraught with unexpected difficulties, and the added stress turned her two-year romance with the father, Norwegian photographer Erik Asla, into a chore.
Family insiders say Asla has gone so far as to tell relatives he’s looking for his own apartment, and those close to him fear the relationship is coming to an end.
Sources said that tensions have been high in the LA mansion where the supermodel lives with Asla, and where they regularly take custody of Asla’s two youngest daughters from his first marriage. We’re told that stressed-out new mom Banks has also sometimes brought her tough TV persona home.

Meanwhile, another source said that the pair are riding out this difficult time. On Independence Day, Asla posted a picture of former “America’s Next Top Model” host Banks wearing an Uncle Sam stovepipe hat, with the caption “Happy 4th of July from our family to yours!”
Insiders told Page Six that the embattled couple continue to work together professionally, and that Asla — who met Banks when he was a guest on Norway’s version of her long-running reality TV modeling contest — even shot promos for her Tyra Beauty cosmetics line in LA on Monday.
Asla didn’t get back to us, and a rep for Banks declined to comment.
Yikes. This is terrible news. Motherhood isn’t easy but single motherhood is even harder so we hope Tyra and Erik are able to work things out.
