Chris Rock Signs $40 Million Deal With Netflix
Chris Rock just signed a huge stand-up special deal with streaming service Netflix! The legendary comedian just inked a $40 million, two special deal with the service after an 8 year hiatus reports Variety.
Netflix has worked with comedians such as Aziz Ansari, Chelsea Handler, Chris Tucker and Bill Burr but this new deal is the biggest one yet.
Rock is the biggest name Netflix has scored yet, though, with Netflix’s Ted Sarandos calling him “comedy royalty.” Lisa Nishimura, vice president of original programming and comedy, said that it was the right time for Rock’s two specials to “take things to the next level,” making Netflix the “preeminent destination” for stand-up.
Netflix outbid HBO, Hulu, Amazon to air the specials and exclusively score the comedian/actor. Comedy night & chill??
