Here’s Why DMX Won’t See A Cent From His $40K Ruff Ryders Gig This Weekend
Rapper On The Hook For Legal Fees
DMX might have thought he’d be in for a windfall from his concert at the Barclays Center this weekend.
However, BOSSIP has learned that his entire five-figure paycheck will go towards funding an outstanding judgment for legal fees.
DMX was scheduled to perform April 21 at the “Ruff Ryders & Friends Reunion Tour,” along with Swizz Beatz, Eve, The Lox and Drag-On, and would have pocketed $40,000 from the show.
But the New York City Marshal’s informed the “Slippin’” rapper that his entire payment from the performance would go towards settling his debt to attorney John Coleman, who specializes in business law.
DMX – who was born Earl Simmons – won’t see a dime of the payout, and the entire amount will be sent to Coleman, according to the Marshals’ writ.
It wasn’t immediately clear why DMX had retained Coleman. We’ve reached out to Coleman and a rep for DMX for comment.
