Actor Chris Chalk Weds Kimberley Dalton Mitchell In Asheville, NC Ceremony
Congratulations are in order for another beautiful black couple! Meet the Chalks! You may recognize Chris Chalk from “Gotham,” ’12 Years A Slave,’ “Underground” and “Homeland.” This weekend he wed actress Kimberley Dalton Mitchell in his hometown, Asheville, North Carolina at the North Carolina Arboretum. The couple said their vows in front of 135 guests with fellow black actor couple, Alano Miller and DeWanda Wise as their best man and matron of honor. Miller and Wise first introduced the couple!

After the ceremony wedding guests boarded yellow school buses to attend the reception at Grand Bohemian Hotel.
“I think there’s something about a school bus that immediately humbles you. It’s fun,” Chalk tells Us Weekly. Mitchell adds, “We didn’t want people driving up the mountain after [drinking champagne at the ceremony].”
For the wedding, the newlyweds asked their guests to dress their sexiest. “Our actual instruction was, ‘Dress how you would dress if you knew you were going to make out with somebody that night,'” the 12 Years a Slave actor tells Us, quipping that he and Mitchell “had to dial it back for some people.”
The reception menu included shrimp and grits, duck confit, salmon, steak and a waffle and bacon bar. Sounds delicious right?
