Will Kimora Lee Simmons Lose Her Line Due To Hubby’s Shady Business Dealings?

Remember last year when news broke that Kimora Lee Simmons’ ballin’ billionaire banker hubby was under investigation over shady dealings in Malaysia? Well new reports are speculating that Leissner may be the money man behind Kimora’s KLS fashion line — which could put her in a tight spot if he has to return the commissions made after he helped raise $6.5 billion for a Malaysian development fund.

Those dealings are currently under investigation by the FBI and investigators in four other countries, who are tracing hundreds of millions of dollars allegedly transferred to Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and his associates.

According to Page Six reports:

“Goldman Sachs was paid exorbitant fees for selling the bonds,” one lawyer who has followed the case told me. “The prosecutors, if they do their job, will seek to claw back the commissions.”

It is widely believed that Leissner financed the launch of his wife’s eponymous fashion line. As Fashionista noted in 2014, “Unlike other brands that come into the designer market, Simmons has an unusually well-funded infrastructure.”

Simmons married Leissner three years ago and launched her KLS line around the same time. The brand is mostly sold online and at a boutique in Beverly Hills, but experts claim it’s impossible the brand is profitable (hard to see why not with prices that start around $550 for tops!).

“She’s off the map. She’s not in any department stores,” one said. And Leissner might not continue to subsidize the operation.

Who says Leissner even funded the operation in the first place? Or that he’s even still in the picture? Kimora’s exes Russell Simmons (father to her daughters Ming Lee and Aoki Lee) and Djimon Hounsou (father of her son Kenzo) both (in the words of sir Algernod) “got plenty money.” We don’t see Kimora EVER having a day of struggle ahead of her. Regardless of whether or not her swirly hubs goes down in the flames.

Sidenote: Uncle Rush and Djimon have way more presence in Kimora’s social media life than Leissner.

Speaking of Kimora’s social media life though — she seems to be in great spirits still.

The family celebrated Kenzo’s birthday this weekend. HIt the flip for photos of that.
