Vanessa Bell Calloway is revealing a secret diagnosis that she quietly overcame. The actress, 60, took time to acknowledge October as breast cancer awareness month and revealed that she secretly battled (and beat) the illness.
“TODAY 8 #yearsago Monday October 26, 2009 I secretly entered the hospital and had a #mastectomy and breast reconstruction,” Calloway captioned a flawless photo of herself. “They took fat from my stomach (a tummy tuck) and made me a new breast. I was in the hospital for 5 days and got home the day before #halloween.”
