Last night, Twitter erupted when women started to come forward about sexual misconduct experienced at the hands of Twitter personality and party promoter who goes by the Twitter handle @ByeCorn. He is most known for his work with the uber popular Bourbon Ball and TKAS parties.
The women, dozens as of the writing of this article, have alleged that “Corn” has done things like grab them inappropriately, push up on them physically and use intimidation. The alleged has responded with an apology for anyone he made uncomfortable and has stepped away from Bourbon Ball and Twitter. However, that hasn’t stopped women from coming out.
Bourbon Ball has responded by banning him from future events:
In light of recent allegations, @Byecorn is no longer apart of the Bourbon Ball team, nor is he welcomed at any upcoming Bourbon Ball events. I am saddened and shocked by the allegations and truly hope these women find healing. (1/2)

You may ask why we are covering a story like this involving people who aren’t “celebrities,” but the answer is clear: black women deserve the same recognition as everyone else when it comes to discussing their trauma.
The last few months have been full of sexual predators being outed for their crimes of assault, rape and harassment. They’ve made front page news, but they all have one thing in common: the Kevin Spaceys, Louis CKs and Harvey Weinsteins of the world are having their careers ruined for assaulting white men and women. However, when black women have constantly spoken up about assault, the men who abuse them are able to continue their careers unscathed. Case in point, R. Kelly, who continues to thrive despite multiple stories about the way he treats women.
Disclaimer: some of these stories involve sexual misconduct and harassment and may be difficult to read for anyone who has experienced similar situations. For that reason, we are putting the testimonies on the next page. We have spoken to each of the women featured and got their consent to amplify their voices on our platform.
Ok, I’ll say this. I and some other women have had uncomfortable experiences with him. 💁🏾 https://t.co/9WLtNiSdIO

Uncomfortable interaction number one: was wearing a crop top at the second TKAS in Atlanta. @byecorn walks up and pinches my nipples and says, “oh I didnt know you had those” (in reference to my nip rings).

Uncomfortable interaction number two: at last TKAS, which I only went to b/c a friend begged me to go and paid for my ticket (and I stayed far away from him all afternoon), Corn walks up behind me—

—pulls me backward by my shirt so I can move out his way so he can kiss my friend directly in the mouth completely unexpectedly. Awkward is not the word.

i vividly remember trying to tell Corn to get off of me because we were in a public park and he was making me uncomfortable by cornering and kissing me by my car. i literally couldn’t move. i’m 4’11 he’s 6 something. And he kept reminding me how big he is compared to me.

And also, when we went out to eat he kept insisting that i should drink. i told him no because i had to go back to work after that. He wouldn’t stop insisting. Even the waitress noticed.

Nothing i did warranted what he did to me that day. And i still beat myself up over not trusting my instincts and staying friends with him after that.
