Xscape’s Awkward “Watch What Happens Live” Interview Raises Questions

After a painfully awkward interview, fans of a 90s girl group are wondering if the reunited singers are on the verge of breaking up AGAIN. Xscape who’s currently promoting their reunion tour, appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” Sunday and there was OBVIOUS tension in the room.

The group who’s also starring in their “Still Kickin’ It” reality show was asked about new music and while LaTocha Scott, Tiny Harris and Tamika Scott are all in, Kandi told Andy that she won’t be participating because she’ll be busy with Broadway.

Kandi: “They are doing new music,” said Kandi.

Andy: “Why aren’t you going to be recording with them?”

Tamika: “Tell the truth Kandi! Tell the truth!”

Kandi: “I’m going to do Broadway and some other things and they’re gonna be working on music.”

The exchange apparently made some fans think that Kandi’s over working with her bandmates.

Things got even more awkward however when Andy brought up an old radio interview Tamika Scott did where she accused Kandi of breaking up the group by sleeping with Jermaine Dupri (Kandi’s openly admitted to the hookup) and Jermaine’s father, music industry executive Michael Mauldin. Tamika admitted on “Watch What Happens Live” that the Michael Mauldin rumor was not true.

Kandi: “It wasn’t about the Jermaine part…”

Tamika: “I didn’t make up the Jermaine story…I didn’t make that up.”

Kandi: “Not the Jermaine—Jermaine and I hooked up but that’s not why we broke up. It was some other stuff that she said—you said that I hooked up with Jermaine’s dad and that’s absolutely not true.

Tamika: “That’s what I said that was not correct.”

There’s CLEARLY some not so subtle tension between these ladies.

Fans took notice of the awkwardness and they’re adamant that this tour will be the group’s last.
