HBO Says No One Has Accused James Franco Of Sexual Harassment

HBO recently renewed their new series, The Deuce, for a second season and they appear to be in full “cover your a$$” mode in the wake of sexual harassment accusations against actor-director James Franco.

Shortly after his undeserved Golden Globe win (shoutout Daniel Kaluyaa), actress Ally Sheedy tweeted an accusation that stemmed from her time working with Franco on the off-Broadway play The Long Shrift in 2014. He was also accused of sexual misconduct by another actress, Violet Paley.

According to Deadline, HBO released a curious statement regarding Franco’s behavior on set of their hit show:

“We have verified that no complaints about Mr. Franco have come in on The Deuce production,” HBO said in a statement to Deadline.

Sounds suspiciously like: “He hasn’t done anything to anyone on our watch, so we’re good, right?”
