HBO “POV” Show Delivers Big At ABFF

This weekend, for the first time ever, HBO brought its new digital program “HBO POV” to life at ABFF in Miami by introducing the world to some of the network’s most impactful behind-the-scenes-talent. The new series invites consumers to learn from Hollywood’s best and brightest people of color working off-camera.

On Friday, MERC ARCENEAUX (personal make-up artist to Dwayne “The ROCK” Johnson) kicked-off the program featuring an intimate discussion with bourgeoning professional artists about the hard skills required for her job plus the business and marketing savvy required for success, from cultivating relationships to building a personal brand.

With influencers like Kylie Russell, Courtney Quinn (Color Me Courtney) and Beauty School of America in attendance, Arceneaux taught a masterclass on the make-up industry, as well as a tutorial featuring HBO BALLERS star LONDON BROWN as her subject. Her tips for the class included; Beauty tips, dressing for success, grooming, staying away from gossip in the industry and building a brand on social media while maintaining the privacy of celebrity clients. She also spoke about her experience in working with stars like KEVIN HART and more.

In the surprise of the afternoon, HBO BALLERS STAR DWAYNE “THE ROCK” JOHNSON sent in a special video congratulating MERC on her accomplishments in the industry and detailed what makes her the best make-up artist in the industry!
