Rapper Headed To Trial Over Not Paying $148 A Month Child Support

Scarface’s baby mama has ripped the rapper for turning his back on their daughter.

Lisa Varner said the Houston rapper has never seen their eight-year-old in person, is nearly $7,000 behind on his $148 a month child support and blames his mental health struggles on why he’s repeatedly failed to be a father to the girl.

“I’ve known him for 20 years, and I never thought I’d be one of those women,” Varner told us. “He is the epitome of a deadbeat.”

Varner said she and Scarface had a relationship while he was still married to his current wife, and when Varner found out she was pregnant, he begged her to have the child, who BOSSIP is not naming.

She said that the “On My Block” rapper initially paid her $800 a month in support for the girl, but stopped the payments when Varner pressed him to officially acknowledge that he was the child’s father. Varner said she had no idea that Scarface was still married when she sued him for child support. But she said the state Attorney General’s Office, which filed the suit, told her he was indeed still married.

Varner said Scarface’s wife has said that she doesn’t want her family to have anything to do with the girl, and the mom’s push for Scarface to own up is to secure their daughter’s future.

“If anything happens, I want my daughter to be okay,” Varner said.

The mom sued Scarface for paternity and child support in 2011 and got a judgment ordering him to pay $148 a month in support plus $30 for medical expenses. The support amount was only supposed to be temporary while he got back on his feet, but he not only never tried to increase the support amount, and spottily paid it over the years, Varner said.

The pair are now set to head back to court next month over increasing the $148 a month support and the $6,728 arrears.

The mom said Scarface has told the girl that he’ll come and see her, and then not show up. Once, the girl waited for two days before giving up. Varner said her daughter has been scarred by not having regular contact with her father.

“She’s really, really, really affected,” Varner said. “She has the daddy syndrome. I’m afraid of when she gets older, how it’s gonna be. Some days she gets angry and says, ‘Why can’t I be like the other kids?’”

The mom said a few weeks ago, their daughter saw 47-year-old Scarface on TV, when the city of Houston named a day after him. In his speech, Scarface pledged to do more for less fortunate children, prompting a sad response from the girl.

“’What about me?’” Varner said the daughter asked her. “It broke her heart. She said ‘Mommy, I don’t understand.’”

Varner said when she tries to get an explanation from the rapper, he blames his struggles with mental illness and promises to do right by the girl.

“He’ll blame it on his mental illness,” Varner said. “(He’ll say) ‘I wasn’t taking my medicine. I’ll do better.’”

Varner said she simply wants Scarface to have a positive relationship with the girl and contribute to the cost of her care.

“I want her to be cared for financially by both parents,” Varner said. “She shouldn’t have to go without because I’m the only one. I want him to be involved instead of saying he’s going to help other children. You have an eight-year-old kid who needs you. Hug her, talk to her, explain to her.”
