Kevin Hart’s ex-wife is chiming in on the controversy over his crusty dusty homophobic tweets from ten years ago that ultimately cost him his hosting gig at the 2019 Academy Awards because he refused to apologize for it.
Now, his ex-wife Torrei Hart is stepping forward to defend the comedian over jokes he made about physically disciplining his son if he saw any feminine/gay qualities in him during his old stand up/on Twitter. During an interview with Inside Edition, she says she stands by him and trusts he didn’t mean the things he said:
“I don’t think, of course, he wants a gay son — of course, you want your son to be like you – but I think definitely if our son was to turn up gay I don’t think he would be homophobic about it. I think he would embrace him and love him the same.
I stand with him, I don’t think he should have apologized. I think they should still have him host. I mean, who are they going to get? Mother Theresa?”
Torrei sure does stick by Kev no matter WHAT he has to say about her, huh? Good for her for standing behind her kids’ father!
