Six years to the day that a mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary left 26 students and teachers dead, the school was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat.
ABC News reports:
Newtown police say the threat was made at about 9 a.m. Friday and the school was evacuated. Lt. Aaron Bahamonde says there’s a heightened level of anxiety in town on the anniversary and the school superintendent decided to cancel remaining classes.
All students and staff have been sent home for the rest of the day. The frightening news comes just a day after dozens of email bomb threats were sent to dozens of Universities, courthouses and newspapers throughout the world.
No word on whether or not the Sandy Hook bomb threat is related to the global email attacks.
