Indiana School Superintendent Arrested For Insurance Fraud After Helping Sick Student

This is exactly why America ain’t isht.

Casey Smitherman, the school superintendent for Elwood Community School Corporation, was arrested for insurance fraud after using her son’s name at a hospital in order to help a sick student who appeared to have strep throat.

According to NBCNews, Smitherman became concerned about the 15-year-old student when he didn’t show up at school on January 9. Upon visiting the boy’s home Smitherman became aware that the boy was ill.

“After making sure he had eaten, I could tell he had some of the symptoms of strep throat,” Smitherman said in a Wednesday statement obtained by the station. “As a parent, I know how serious this illness can be if left untreated, and I took him to an emergency clinic.”

At the clinic, Smitherman used her insurance and son’s name to get the boy care and used the name again at the pharmacy to get a prescription filled.

Clearly, this woman was trying to help the boy, but some b!tc#a$$ muhf***a called in a tip to the local police to report that Smitherman took the boy to urgent care.

The student does not live with his parents, but was under the care of a family member. Smitherman says she didn’t call child services to help the boy because she feared they would put him in the system.

Ultimately the administrator was charged with insurance fraud, identity deception, insurance application fraud and official misconduct.

No court date has been set, but it is likely that Smitherman will only pay a fine and possibly some community service.

F**k whoever called the cops on this lady. SMH.
