Daniel Caesar Defends YesJulz And Says Black People Are Too Sensitive

Daniel Caesar has spent a lot of his career making good music while simultaneously being mocked and insulted for not exactly appearing how he sounds. When you hear his voice you automatically picture a more prototypical R&B sex symbol, but when you see his face you automatically picture Gollum.

Black women have long defended Caesar against these type of attacks, including a recent incident where Dave Chappelle called the “Best Part” singer “gay” during an Instagram Live session with John Mayer. Sadly, Caesar doesn’t reciprocate that same energy when it comes to defending Black women against their social media nemesis, YesJulz.

Yesterday, Caesar hopped his clown a$$ on Instagram to chide Black folks for being “too sensitive”, not being able to “take a joke”, and being “mean” to white people…

“Why are we being so mean to white people right now? That’s a serious question. Why is that we’re allowed to be rude and disrespectful to everybody else and when anyone returns any type of energy to us…that’s not equality. I don’t wanna be treated like I can’t take a joke. I just went through that f**kin’ Chappelle s**t and I had to like, in the moment, acknowledge that I was being f***ing sensitive. Know what I’m saying? I need to be able to take a joke just like everybody else. People are allowed to say what the f**k they want and I’m allowed to feel how I want but am I going to fight them or am I going to accept what they have to say and keep it f***ing moving. The only people that I don’t respect and who I think can’t take a joke, I think that they’re less than me. Those are the people who I don’t say my honest opinion around and that’s disrespect.”

He went on to say:

“I see what you’re saying that white people have been mean to us in the past, what are you gonna do about that? Tell me what you’re gonna do about that? …Are we winning right now as a culture? Are we popular in society? We’re not. And you can’t win the game by choosing to not accept the winning team’s strategy. You have to acknowledge their strategy and build a strategy on top of that.”

Yes, Daniel, stealing us from our native land, enslaving us, selling us, raping us, beating us, and stripping us of our human rights as well as civil rights is pretty F**KING “mean”.

No, Daniel, white people are not the “winning team” and we don’t need to become more like them in order to be “popular” in society.
