“Ain’t Too Proud: The Life And Times Of The Temptations” Opens On Broadway

Driving rain didn’t stop celebs turning up in full force to support Broadway’s new musical about the legendary Temptations.

Blair Underwood, Leon, Danielle Brooks, Ben Vereen, “Real Housewives of New York” star Jill Zarin, Steven Van Zandt and even Fergie, the Duchess of York attended the premiere of “Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations,” at the Imperial Theater in New York City.

“Ain’t Too Proud” tells the story of the Temptations’ hits and misses over the years and is based on founder Otis Williams’ book on his time in the group.

Williams – looking larger than life in a leopard print coat – posed on the red carpet alongside Mary Wilson of the Supremes and Motown Records founder Berry Gordy.

Actor Leon – who played Temptations’ lead singer David Ruffin in the TV movie the Temptations and starred in 1991’s “The Five Heartbeats,” looked like a man half his age as photogs snapped him on the carpet.

“Orange Is The New Black’s” Danielle Brooks looked sleek in a black, long-sleeved number with ruffle detailing. Brooks, who is an executive producer for “Ain’t Too Proud,” is no stranger to Broadway, and rocked her portrayal of “Sophia” in “A Color Purple” a few years back.

And Fergie looked happy to be at the show as she laughed and joked on the red carpet before taking her seat inside the theater.
