AS Roma Doesn’t Want Its Players In Pictures With Drake

After the infamous “Drake curse” seemingly struck a French soccer club, one soccer team in Italy decided it’s probably best not to take any chances.

Earlier this week, AS Roma jumped onto Twitter to announce that their players are banned from taking pictures with the Canadian rapper following a championship loss for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). That loss came after PSG player Layvin Kurzawa posed with Drizzy for a picture, further driving the constant speculation that Drizzy is bad luck when it comes to his sports endorsements.

“All Roma players banned from taking photos with Drake until the end of the season,” the tweet from AS Roma joked.

While the “curse” and AS Roma’s picture ban is obviously all in good fun, there really does seem to be some evidence backing up the theory. Following Kurzawa’s picture with the rapper, Paris Saint-Germain lost 5-1 on Sunday, which just so happens to be their worst loss in a decade–though, to be fair, Fox Sports reports that two players succumbed to injuries during the game.

This “ban” from AS Roma comes only a few months after the Minnesota Timberwolves jokingly requested that Drake not wear their team gear in public. “We love you, @Drake… but please refrain from wearing any Wolves gear in public. We don’t need that curse,” the team’s official Twitter account sent out on January 10.

Drizzy hasn’t responded to AS Roma’s “ban” on photos yet, but he’s been a good sport about these same jokes in the past, so we have a feeling he won’t mind too much.
