R.I.P: Pennsylvania Woman Killed By Meat Grinder At Work

This is… unspeakably tragic.

A 35-year-old woman working at a Pennsylvania food processing company is dead after falling into a meat grinder. A coworker found her remains after noticing strange noises coming from the machine, according to authorities.

From ABCNews:

Witnesses said firefighters spent about 45 minutes disassembling the large machine in an effort to recover the woman’s remains… Lycoming County coroner Charles Kiessling Jr. confirmed the woman’s death in a phone interview with ABC News late Tuesday. He said the victim may have been standing on a set of wheeled stairs prior to the fatal accident.

Coroner Charles Kiessling Jr. reportedly commented that it was a tragedy, as she “died inside the moving parts of the machine.” The person who found her powered it down and then called 911.

As for what EXACTLY happened, Kiessling Jr. adds “I don’t know if she got caught with the moving parts and they pulled her in, or if she just slipped and fell. I don’t know and there’s no way of determining that.”
