Man Reportedly Breaks Into An 88-Year-Old Woman’s Home & Rapes Her
A Brooklyn man has been charged in New York for a despicable act.
According to New York Daily News, Selwyn Worrell, 24, allegedly broke into his 88-year-old neighbor’s home, tied her up and raped her.
Authorities report that the incident went down in East New York around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. According to them, Worrell entered the woman’s home, grabbed her by the throat, then tied her hands together. He then reportedly forced her into the basement and raped her.
Cops say the woman was discovered after the Life Alert button she was wearing went off. When the police and medics arrived on the scene, they found the woman in the basement, partially dressed. They took her to an area hospital for treatment.
Worrell had reportedly run off but was eventually apprehended a few blocks away near Livonia and Sheffield Aves. Detectives have booked him on rape, sexually motivated assault, and burglary charges.
This is not Worrell’s first offense either. He spent two years in prison for a 2015 attempted burglary conviction, according to court records. He was out on parole on February 23 and already, it seems he’s headed right back to prison.
