BOSSIP: Congrats on being a new author! Tell us about your new book, “My World.”

Gizelle: “I’m so excited that it’s finally here because I’ve been working on it for a while now. But it’s loosely based on my life when I was married to a pastor. It’s salacious. It’s a page-turner. You get to see the inside of the ‘First Lady’ world. There are cliques in that world, they support each other and they throw each other under the bus. And you get to see a woman whose life was derailed a bit, and how she picked herself up and got through it. I’m happy that I did a story about my life in this way.”

BOSSIP: What do you want readers to take away from this story?

Gizelle: That pastors are human too. And yes, you hold them in high regard, but they are human and they make mistakes. For me, I thought I was going to be married for the rest of my life, and that didn’t work out, so for me, I had to figure out a way to empower myself and empower my children.”

BOSSIP: All of this stuff that you have going on – the show, your beauty line, the book – are you able to make time for your love life?

Gizelle: “I am dating a little bit. I’m no longer with Sherman, so this is something that’s new, so I’m not ready to put it out there yet. But I am dating, and I’m taking my time, which I think is best for me right now.”

“Real Housewives of Potomac” airs Sunday nights on Bravo.
