After the success of both Black Panther films, we’re excited to see the entertainment landscape changing and making room for more diversity. Cole and Adedayo opened up about the series’ potential to expose people to positive Black portrayals on a global scale.

“Rapman created something very original, very fresh. very grounded, also very high and I’d like to think that when this comes out it can open doors for more and people get inspired by it and create many other things,” Tosin Cole told BOSSIP. Hopefully it’s a start for many, many more things to come into fruition.”

“It’s always hard because I think actors, obviously we hope it has every success and it does amazing things,” Adelayo Adedayo added. “I think the story is really important to us. I really really enjoyed working on it so we’re just happy and excited if people connect and they’re entertained by it. On a bigger scale in terms of making space for more work with Black leads and different kinds of stories about Black people, obviously it would be amazing if it encouraged people that have the keys to fund shows to give that you know funding to writers and directors and people like Rapman to say, ‘Go make more of this!’ because you know people want to see it.”
