Could Reggie Bush’s Loss Be Vince Young’s Gain? Titan ‘Won’t Say No’ To Heisman

- By Bossip Staff

After news hit that it was likely Reggie Bush would be stripped of the Heisman Trophy he won in 2005, there were some who suggested that Vince Young, who finished second to Bush in the Heisman voting, should be given the award.

Young, had no comment when asked last week, spoke openly in Sportscenter interview Monday saying:

“I definitely want it, I definitely want it,” said Young, who was runner-up for the Heisman that year, when he guided Texas to the national championship. “But he won it fair and square definitely, and it’s much respect to Reggie, man. He had a great career and he’s already won a Super Bowl before me. I’m already mad about that.

“But at the same time I am definitely happy for him, man, and he is definitely the Heisman Trophy winner for that year. But if they send it over to me I am not going to say no to it.”

Bush recently said he hasn’t been thinking about the Heisman trust’s decision since it’s out of his hands and he’s been focused on his role with the New Orleans Saints.

Do you think Vince Young should get Reggie Bush’s Heisman? We were thinking it would probably be best to let ‘sleeping dogs lie,’ especially since it’s not like Bush took performance enhancing drugs that made him play better and earn all those votes in the first place. But at the same time, if voters knew about Bush’s misconduct back in the day, wouldn’t Young have taken the Award?

Reggie got caught doing dirt, and not only did it cost HIM the Heisman, it also cost the entire team the wins for that season.
Now those guys that bled sweated and gave their all for their alma mater are being left in the wind while he rolls on.
    Don’t seem fair to me…

The Heisman Trust came out and said that they have not made a decision about the trophy.

  • hell yeah!

whatever!! he is one of the finest pieces of chocolate that walked this planet. All i can say is dayummm… what a good looking man

Who wants sloppy seconds, people will forever think of that as Reggie’s trophy whether he gets it or not. Besides I do not understand how Reggie’s deeds take away from earning that trophy fair and square, I swear its some bish ar-se mess.

I agree with The Real Deal. Misconduct isnt what led the voters to vote for him or for him to win those games with his team. The voters thought Reggie deserved it and he did just like he does now. Vince Young will always be the voters SECOND pick. Unless he paid the voters or his team to win, he earned that award and they shouldnt even consider taking it away from him, or giving it to someone else. Freaking Indian Givers. Oh I went there.

Problem is THE REAL DEAL, if the misconduct would have been revealed @ the time of the voting IT would have resulted in Reggie NOT winning the award. I agree that Vince will always be viewed as the runner up (like the one who took Vanessa Williams’ place, what’s her name???) but he still does not deserve to keep the award. He did not play w/in the rules that everyone else did. What’s worse is he cost his teammates their legacies.

LOL Nothing like sloppy seconds huh? Reggie nows all about that. He’ll be able to give Vince some pointers.
