After news hit that it was likely Reggie Bush would be stripped of the Heisman Trophy he won in 2005, there were some who suggested that Vince Young, who finished second to Bush in the Heisman voting, should be given the award.

Young, had no comment when asked last week, spoke openly in Sportscenter interview Monday saying:

“I definitely want it, I definitely want it,” said Young, who was runner-up for the Heisman that year, when he guided Texas to the national championship. “But he won it fair and square definitely, and it’s much respect to Reggie, man. He had a great career and he’s already won a Super Bowl before me. I’m already mad about that.

“But at the same time I am definitely happy for him, man, and he is definitely the Heisman Trophy winner for that year. But if they send it over to me I am not going to say no to it.”

Bush recently said he hasn’t been thinking about the Heisman trust’s decision since it’s out of his hands and he’s been focused on his role with the New Orleans Saints.

Do you think Vince Young should get Reggie Bush’s Heisman? We were thinking it would probably be best to let ‘sleeping dogs lie,’ especially since it’s not like Bush took performance enhancing drugs that made him play better and earn all those votes in the first place. But at the same time, if voters knew about Bush’s misconduct back in the day, wouldn’t Young have taken the Award?
