More Than 23,000 Credit Cards Stolen From Sony Online Entertainment
In Deep Ish: Hackers Have Stolen More Than 23,000 Credit Cards And Bank Accounts From Sony Online Entertainment
Remember that little “security breach” people in the Playstation Network had to deal with last week? Yeah, turns out it’s a little more than a “little problem.”
About 12,700 credit cards were stolen from the network, so you should probably check your bank statements. According to the Network, these credit cards are for non-US users, so the people stateside are safe for now, but who knows how long that will last. There were also about 11,000 direct debit records that list bank account numbers from Germany, Austria, The Netherlands and Spain. The whole situation is getting uglier by the day for Sony.
You may want to think about taking your credit card info off of the Sony Online Entertainment database, or someone might be taking a trip to the Bahamas or something on your tab.
