- Panettiere's breakout role as Sheryl Yoast in 'Remember the Titans' earned her a Young Artist Award.

From a football-loving kid in Remember the Titans to a supernatural cheerleader, country music star and horror movie survivor, Hayden Panettiere spent decades giving audiences characters they could not forget. Her death is resonating deeply with Black audiences, many of whom grew up watching her work, including her turn opposite Solange Knowles in the 2006 cult favorite Bring It On: All or Nothing.
As BOSSIP previously reported, Solange was among those paying tribute to her former co-star, reflecting on both their shared experience as young actresses and the lasting impact of the film they made together.
“I salute your journey, and I honor the work we created together that became something that really means something to people,” Solange wrote on Instagram Stories, noting that the movie reached audiences they “never could’ve imagined” as “two young girls” working together at the time.
The singer ended her emotional remembrance by writing,
“The light surrounds you now. Rest easy Hayden,” and shared throwback photos of the pair from the film alongside the touching caption, “warriors for life.”
Vogue notes that Panettiere’s career began before she could even walk. She appeared in a commercial at just 11 months old and spent the next three decades becoming one of Hollywood’s most recognizable young stars.
