Kanye West invited the entire Mercer Hotel staff to the Izod Center in New Jersey for his Saturday “Watch the Throne” concert with Jay-Z. Sources said the stars wanted to return the favor after they took over the second floor of the SoHo hotel to produce their album and were well looked-after, despite some noise and air-quality complaints from guests. One staffer told us, “We were all provided with complimentary tickets, and Kanye personally thanked each team member for attending. The seats were amazing and he was such a gentleman.” After their Monday gig at Madison Square Garden, Jay-Z partied with Irv Gotti (angling for a top job at Def Jam) and Maxwell at Catch.
