Jay Z Beyonce And Solange Release Joint Statement On Elevator Incident

The Carter-Knowles crew is speaking out to set the record straight about the now-infamous violent elevator outbreak where an enraged Solange attacked brother-in-law Jay Z with Beyonce present as the trio were leaving last week’s Met Gala after party.

The family released this official statement to The Associated Press earlier today:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” the trio said in a statement to The Associated Press Thursday.

“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public.

They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”

The statement also went on to address the rumors surrounding what triggered Solo’s elevator spazz session. Read the rest on the flip.

“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false,” the family’s statement continued.

“At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

Hmmm. This sounds more like Bey speaking up for her family than a “joint statement” to us but, hey,  at least now all of the speculation as to why they were remaining silent can be put to rest.

What are your thoughts on the statement, Bossip fam?
