Laurie Ann Gibson responds to that recent night club foolery:

“When I read the paper I was in shock,” Gibson explained. “I was with Missy having a great time and didn’t even know there was a fight. I found out later it was my makeup artist and I got to her the next day.” Gibson criticizes the venue, Marquee nightclub, for allegedly not providing a safe environment for patrons to enjoy themselves. “I really find it offensive that they are [allegedly] always doing something to my black sisters and brothers,” Gibson declared. “That club is a little extra in my opinion and it’s disappointing.”

Gibson defended her friend’s response to the hostile situation. “She (the waitress) pushed her and Deborah’s reaction was ‘I’m from Brooklyn, you’re not going to just be pressing up on me and disrespecting me’,” Gibson reasoned. “It was an unfortunate situation but I don’t roll with people who start trouble. She’s an amazing makeup artist and more importantly a strong black woman. It was just a case of someone feeling themselves at a nightclub and getting extra which happens all the time to a lot of us in entertainment.”

It’s pathetic when grown ass folks act like a bunch of school children. SMH at Laurie Ann trying to defend that wacky broad.

    Damn she look like one of those slash-your-tires crazy stalker chicks….

  • I’m Just Me (I AIN’T WITH REDBONE N*GGAS)

    I am from the NY (lol…I did just state that, huh?) Anyhoo, I am from the NY and I so agree with y’all. It seems like that is supposed to mean something. I no longer live in NYC and I see that it is WAAAAYYYY more thorough in other places. A lot of them cats do that shyt to intimidate people and it is foolish.Like someone said you can still get your head blown off with a gun no matter where you are from.

    As for Laurie Ann I am disappointed in her comments. A strong black woman would have ignored it if it was just a push or approached the woman one and one and asked if there was a problem before shooting the fair one. I don’t think the friend handled it correctly at all.

    Can We Say GHETTO. How old are these people? Talkin about being from Brooklyn, and that strong Black women crap. Some people are really sad and do not need to be heard.

  • intenzemocha

    Sh$t happens, for the most part most of us would have responded in the same manner- a light push or brush is one thing but if she pushed her hard enough to make her stumble or fall….oh yeah that’s her azz

    and if this occurred in a basketball game you all would be discussing it like it was the highlight of the night-it’s never ending how people go to great lengths to categorize all black women in a negative light irregardless of the situation-for whatever reasons we’re expected to uphold unreasonable morals and expectations than any other typical person in this same situation.

    Get the f#ck outta here with all that nonsense I’ve seen people black , white, & puerto rican, fight for lesser reason than this………

    The chick got what she deserved

  • enigma

    I mad no one mention the real issue…why does she have a make up artist???

  • Ummmmmmmm

    She has a make-up artist?

  • http://www.google.com Man, I just don’t care

    Might have been a “publicity stunt.” Anything to get some attention since Puffy got rid of her @$$.

    She is nice piece so I don’t know why she lookin that bad in the pic.

  • caramelsin

    Gotta say I agree with all of yall. I proudly claim NY as my homestate, but I don’t go around tryin to intimidate people with that wac a@@ sh!t – sounds like grade school to me…..

  • Lou in the Chi

    I had a friend from Brooklyn tell me that when I visited NY don’t leave Manhattan or I’d get murked cause they’d spot me as an easy mark. I told him I’m from St. Louis and I wish a nucca would. It’s crazy arse criminals everywhere that you gotta watch your back for.

  • Lou in the Chi

    And why is Laurie Ann turning white in this picture?

  • http://www.google.com Man, I just don’t care

    New York ain’t the only place doin that ish. Lot of people do the same from L.A., New Orleans and Baltimore just to name a few. Thinkin they hard cause of their CITY’S murder rate and ish.

    Same people go to Beverly Hills and get done!

  • REAL2REELVISIONS

    She looks a hot mess, point blank, she need a new stylist, a new har do to fit that man face and and a new make up artist.

    She a nice lookin woman too.

    Let this be a lesson to you females. LESS IS MORE. She trying to hard, look like a tranny. Real talk. Real women don’t need all that make up and exposing dress like that. Men notice your breasts and ass regardless of what you are wearing…. trust.

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    @ITZ DADDY NICCA

    LOL!! That’s cause we proud of where were from daddy!!! I rep. BK till I die playboy!!! I know there are millions of ghetto’s scattered across the U.S. and world for that matter but don’t no hood compair to the hood’s in NYC. Plus, we got fashion, entertainment, money and if you saw the Macy’s 4th of July firework display over the Manhattan skyline with the Statue of Libery and the Brooklyn Bridge you would love being from here to… It’s beautiful! I know St. Loius got an arch or something like that.

  • Common Sense

    Why the F do stupid hoodrats from the BK always have to say “I’m from Brooklyn….blah blah blah”…before they get into some embarassing foolishness.

    Only those who have little else to be proud of go on about where they were born. So what, you were born in Brooklyn, that means……NOTHING.

    Doesn’t make you tough, and saying “I’m from Brooklyn” makes you sound like ghetto trash. Sorry.

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    @Common Sense

    I love being hatted on, LOL, It’s the best!! It’s a pride thing baby… you wouldn’t understand unless you was from the Big Apple.

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    Gotta Get That Dirt Off Your Shoulder!!

  • Common Sense

    @ BK Stand UP!

    Or maybe the rest of us would rather our accomplishments speak for us than where our momma dropped us out. Any moron can be born in BK. If you are impressed with yourself or somebody else for where you were born, then your standards are low as sh*t.

    Oh, is that hating? or telling the truth

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    @Common Sense

    Why does it bother you so much the people from Brooklyn are proud of where were from? If you don’t like it then don’t pay us no mind.

  • The Bear

    Lol @ her extra use of the word “extra”.

  • Common Sense

    I have no problem with being proud of where you’re from. But for some reason, “I’m from Brooklyn” always seems to precede some sort of foolish ignant’ behavior.

    THAT is my only beef with BK. Otherwise, it’s my favorite borough.

  • http://www.yahoo.com I said GOOD DAY!

    WHY did her girlfriend let her go out in public lookin a hot boilin mess?! what’s wit the blood red lipstick, ugly dress, and man face? SMH omg terrible

  • bree

    i don’t like that Laurie Ann had to say her makeup artist is from Brooklyn..anyone who gets pushed in a club/party will react, regardless of your zipcode, at least i hope you would!

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    @Common Sense

    LOL… I respect that!

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    @ITZ DADDY NICCA

    You sound like you been drinking that Haterade. I’ve been to DC and I know it’s tough and ghetto so I will not disagree with your comment but why does it bother YOU so much? Why you so worried about another City that isn’t even yours? Just asking!

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    Also, I think DC is a real city and you should be proud of where your from. Let New Yorkers be, we ain’t done or said anything about your drug infested city.

  • Keysha

    cc you beat me to it! since she from brooklyn she needs to be mad at her face being disrespected like that. the “i just got finished crying” look is over!

  • val

    im not sure but if this is the same makeup artist i think it is that i saw at a shoot a yr ago then she is the bizzzzness. amazing work in like 5 minutes. lol. this old pic of laurie ann has been floating around for yrs and def dont believe this pic is her work.

  • http://myspace.com/afiya00 Afiya

    …”AMAZING make-up artist…”?????????

    Well she must be amazing on others cause this photo up top looks hideous…make-up and all!!!

  • thickems

    @ ITZ DADDY NICCA

    sounds like to do like New Yorkers….

  • thickems

    Rephrase

    @ ITZ DADDY NICCA

    sounds like you dont like New Yorkers…..

  • dontaskme4shyt

    and i do understand the hate from outta towners….we got alot to hate on. hell, if i was yall, i’d hate us too.

  • INOCENTbiSTANDR

    I know the prob I have with NYers saying where they’re from is the fact that they think I’m supposed to be scared b/c they are from NY. Like when you tell me you’re from NY, my mind is gonna change, my attitude gonna be different, I’m gonna like you any more, I’m not gonna speak my mind etc. etc. etc. Just cause you from NY. What that mean? Why the F*** you down here then? Go back is my response. I remember the girl on “BAD GIRLS CLUB” who kept hollering that mess trying to intimidate those girls. I wished I was on there just to show her what a girl from NC would do to her. Azz beating is the same no matter what city, state or country you get it from. Otherwise, I have no prob with NYers with sense. It’s just not many of ya’ll. LOL

  • INOCENTbiSTANDR

    What’s funny is N****S quick to “Rep” where they from. Defend their hood. Put on for their city. And don’t own SHYT! Buy some property or land in YO CITY and then be quick to say that’s MY city, I got a piece in that. Runnin’ round talkin bout we proud of this city or that city, “eastside”, “westside”, “southside” and all that other ignorant mess and not claiming yo own child! N****S PUHLEEZE! TIME TO GROW UP!!!

  • maddzzu ( Still pissed for not being in Ebonys 25 Coolest niccaz)

    U gotta admit all this “I am from Ny ishhh ridiculous”.

  • INOCENTbiSTANDR

    EXACTLY w5d about your scenario nad if that’s the work of the make-up artist then she needed more than a push.

  • INOCENTbiSTANDR

    and if…

  • sweet_lies

    yeah, what the hell is laurie ann thinking defending a chick who f#cks up her makeup like that?

    btw, i laurie ann jamaican? that’s a very yard sounding name…

  • Suga Mo

    Laurie…..”She is NOT an amazing make up artist!!!” You apparently didnt see this pics.

  • ARTOFWAR

    @Brooklyn, Stand Up! You said: “I know there are millions of ghetto’s scattered across the U.S. and world for that matter but don’t no hood compare to the hood’s in NYC.”)

    —————————————————————————————————–

    Apparently you’ve never spent any time in Detroit….. ARTOFWAR.

  • http://text-support.com Scooby Dubious

    Can we please retire the phrase “strong black woman (man)”? It’s almost always coming out of the mouth of some obnoxious nitwit

    We’re so proud of being violent and reckless that you can almost forgive everybody else for thinking that’s all we are.

  • Ashcakes

    She got that moustache on lock too

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

    @ARTOFWAR

    Your right! I’ve never been to the D, but I would love to get the experience. When people from NY rep. they City why do these down south bammers get so offended?

  • http://www.infomercialscams.com/scams/direct_buy_scams/start/000000000000000 kris

    What does ‘getting extra’ mean?

  • val

    maybe after that pic, her ppl was like yooooooooo we def need to get you a makeup artist if u want a shot in entertainment post mtv b/c i agree this pic is the worst!!! i seen this pic way back in early making the band days so i’m hoping thats the case.

  • kenya
