Melyssa Ford is trying to get away as far as possible from what help put her on the map. In a recent interview with J’adore magazine, she says:

“When I started doing videos, things were different from they are now. I came in when there was no such thing as a ‘video hoe’ and most girls were not aspiring to just be video girls. There was no stigma attached to the profession so it was no big deal.”

‘Black Men’ Magazine decided to put a Black woman on the cover this month and ass-ilicious Melyssa Ford and ANTM’s Nik have some game to share with young kids and those with video ho aspirations:

Melyssa Ford:

I was marketing myself, doing my own merchandising, and making my own calendars and DVD’s before other women were doing that”

Oooooh, they may be teaching this in business schools one day.

ANTM’s Nik:

I also want to help young women who need guidance and role models. I would have an impact on children’s lives. I think kids nowadays need positive role models and I think giving back and helping them is very important and very much needed

Last week we told you about the Game’s record “Wouldn’t Get Far,” during which he talks about video vixens sleeping with rappers to get ahead in life and drops the names Vida Guerra and Gloria Velez as well as the line “All these new video bitches trying to be Melyssa Ford, but they don’t know Melyssa Ford drives a Honda Accord …/ Behind closed doors, she’ll do whatever it takes to get to the Grammy Awards.”

Melyssa Ford’s response:

“I’m treating it like a spoof; it has nothing to do with me,” she said last week in Atlanta on the BET Hip-Hop Awards red carpet. “I don’t drive a Honda Accord, I drive a [Mercedes-Benz] S550. Everybody else thinks it’s a big deal. I have no idea what the fuss is about.”

LMAO@how Melyssa didn’t say anything about his lyric about what girls like her do “behind close doors” to get ahead in the industry. The intelligent Melyssa is only worried about setting the record straight on what car she drives. SMH
