Call It Quits: 11 Celebs Who Tried To Make A Comeback And Failed

Sometimes when you fall off, you just have to dust yourself off and try again. Other times though, you have to know when to let it go and walk away with some shred of dignity.  Here we’ve compiled a list of celebs who have tried to make a comeback and failed miserably. Flip on over to see which celebs made our list.

Ja Rule

There’s no doubt the rapper dominated the music scene through the late 90s right on into the new millennium.  However, Ja Rule slowly fell to the wayside along with his Murder Inc crew.  After a 2 year jail stint in 2013, Ja Rule came back and announced he would be starring in a new film and TV series all the while working on his next album ‘Genius Loves Company‘. Since then, his only  attempt at a comeback has been his bootleg ‘On The Run Tour’ appearances with Ashanti.

Not a good look Ja.

Remy Ma

Sorry Remy but your time has come and gone.  It’s time to retire your rappin report and move on to bigger business ventures.  She’s made several attempts to revamp her image into 2015 but reality is no ones checking for a Remy Ma comeback album.

Sorry girlll!

Ma$e

The ex-rapper turned pastor, turned rapper again, was best known for his 90s hits with Bad Boy.  Over 10 years ago, the rapper decided to leave the music scene for ministry.  Unfortunately though, his time in the church came to an abrupt end after a very public divorce.  After being run out of the church, Ma$e tried to resuscitate his rap career. Can’t knock a brother for trying though right? Wrong.  During an Instagram update, the struggle rapper lost over 1 million followers and got roasted so relentlessly that he was forced to delete his social media account.

Ciara

Ciara took some time away from the stage to focus on her family with her now ex-fiancee, Future.  Not long after giving birth to the super cute son they share, the couple called it quits.  Cici decided to make a comeback but little did she know that finding her way back to super stardom wouldn’t be so easy. Just a week after releasing her comeback album “Jackie”, it was reported that her first week album sales dragged in under 20k.  To make matters worse, she got dragged to hell and back on Twititer during  #AskCiara.

Guess they don’t call her Ci-Error for nothing…

Mya

This 35 year old songstress definitely gets more and more bangin’ every year, sadly though, her career in music never follows suit.  Last year, Mya tried to use her Instagram fan base to catapult her mixtape. Although it didn’t get her very far, there was still hope until… she got roasted up for some sexy-struggly dance routine that left her fans thoroughly confused. When Bow Wow starts clowning you… you know the struggle is real.

Olivia

Remember Olivia from G-Unit… Barely?

Well, we will refresh your memory. She was the singer best known for her time with 50 Cent’s crew, G-unit. Olivia didn’t get much success from the group and later tried to gain exposure through  Love & Hip Hop New York.  The show publicized her struggly comeback which never really took off.  After appearing on the show, she admitted that she felt the show hurt her career…

Olivia, what career?

Keri Hilson

With origins as a song writer, Keri actually had what seemed to be a promising career on the stage. That is, until she threw shots at Queen Bey and got run out of the spotlight. Over the past few years, Keri has released new songs but it seems that her mere existence just continues to fade into the background – along with her music.

When will people learn? The Beyhive ain’t having it.

Jodeci

Undoubtedly one of the greatest R&B groups of of the 90s, Jodeci will always hold a special place in our hearts. Many fans were disheartened when the the group abruptly fell off over 15 years ago. Here’s the good news though: Jodeci finally made a comeback this February.

Bad news: under all the shades and snow suits, they look like someone’s old struggly uncles who finally made it through AA.

Smh.

Ashanti

We can’t knock a sister for trying, especially Ashanti’s banging self.  Despite the fact that she hasn’t had a hit in over a decade, the former Murder Inc singer was still ripe enough to make a comeback. Well, that is until started impersonating the Carters, while touring with Ja Rule. Smh

Lil Mama

Here we go again.  Just when we thought Lil Mama redeemed her history of fail with her role in The TLC Movie, she had to prove us wrong.  After earning praise for portraying Lisa Left Eye Lopez in “Crazy Sexy Cool,” the New York native quietly drifted away with the hype.  Recently though, she tried to get her steal some shine back with her comeback anthem “Sausage“.

Just when we thought the foolery was over… smh.

Nelly

Nelly may not be the worst comeback fail we’ve witnessed but when’s the last time you bought an album? We’ll wait…

Once upon a time, Nelly was definitely a hit maker but any rapper who has to resort to reality TV for some checks is a comeback fail in our book.
