Woman Suing Derrick Rose For Raping Her Said Her Former Friend Sold Texts To The Press To Discredit Her At Rose’s Urging
The woman suing Derrick Rose of rape accused the NBA star of conspiring with her former roommate and encouraging her to leak private texts online in an attempt to ruin her reputation.
The woman sued Rose earlier this year – identified only as Jane Doe – accusing the NBA star and two of his friends of drugging her and then gang raping her inside her apartment.
The woman explained she dated Rose from 2011 to 2013, and during the time she said Rose attempted to pressure her into doing various sexual activities such as masturbating on camera, allowing him to have sex with her friends and demanding she participate in group sex.
Then in August 2013, the woman claimed that Rose and his two friends, Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton, invited her to the NBA star’s L.A. mansion, where she claims someone slipped a drug into her drink with the aim of raping her. She claimed that she escaped the home with a friend but later in the evening Rose and his friends broke into her home and gang raped her while she was knocked out.
The NBA star fired back at the lawsuit saying it was nothing more than a shameless money grab. Rose denied all allegations that he raped his ex-girlfriend and said she gave him and his buddies consent to have sex. Rose claimed that the woman was only upset with him due to her not being reimbursed for sex toys used during the night in question. He said that once he started ignoring her texts she became even more angry with him.
Recently, the woman filed court docs laying out exactly what the woman wanted in terms of monetary compensation from Rose. The docs said Jane Doe is seeking $6 million in compensatory damages and $15.5 million in punitive damages for a total of $21.5 million dollars from the NBA star. Rose blasted the figure demanding the amount is without merit and said he owes her NOTHING.
Then on November 23rd, the accuser filed an amended complaint adding her former friend/roommate named Keyana LaVernge as a defendant in the case. She said Keyana sold personal, private and confidential text messages sent between each other to a blog in late October.
The accuser isn’t only furious about her ex-friend leaking her texts but she accused Rose and his lawyer Mark Baute of encouraging Keyana to sell the texts – all in an attempt to ruin her reputation and frame her as a gold-digger and a liar.
The alleged victim explained the texts were sold out of context to try and paint her as someone she is not. The woman is suing her former friend for invasion of privacy and demanding damages for her actions.
The defendants have yet to respond to the allegations.
