Are We Finally Getting Rid Of R. Kelly?
R. Kelly Closed Out The Soul Train Awards But It Seems Like We’re Finally Ready To Get Rid Of Him
Is It Time To Get Rid Of R. Kelly
R. Kelly’s history of allegedly raping underage girls has been chronicled over the last 15 or so years and he’s never faced any consequences. For so long, he’s been given a pass because his music is “hot” and classic, but we can’t overlook the damning claims against him. Last night, Kelly took the stage to close out the Soul Train Awards and it seems like we finally got together and got him out of the paint. This was probably his first major appearance on a national level since the mythical “Black Twitter” became a thing and he felt the wrath.
It seems like we’re mostly all ready to demand R. Kelly pay for his alleged crimes or get his a$$ out of our lives. He might be gearing up for a PR push of some sort, but that move might backfire.
Take a look at the discussions…

The wildest thing about R. Kelly is that he called himself the Pied Piper. The Pied Piper. The Pied Piper. pic.twitter.com/fo34FGAtbQ

If you have decided to support R. Kelly's music in spite of his crimes, say that. But do not say he isn't guilty of harming girls.

How are you an adult woman tweeting that 'R. Kelly can get it' knowing damn well you too old he don't want it?

— Brittney Cooper (@ProfessorCrunk) November 30, 2015
Oh great. R Kelly is being treated just like all the rest of the black family molesters. In the mix like nothing happened. Dope.

I was hoping @TichinaArnold was gonna drag #RKelly for every black girl he raped. Alas…. #SoulTrainAwards

Do I have to show you yet again, some literature on who the Pied Piper is? Or can we just throw R Kelly away finally?
