Both Sides Accuse Each Other Of Manipulating Texts From Night Of Alleged Rape
Derrick Rose has released text messages between him and his rape accuser that he said will clear him of gang rape, according to court documents obtained by BOSSIP.
Lawyers for Rose filed court papers Thursday revealing a string of texts between Rose and his accuser that the defense said shows she had a consensual encounter with Rose and his two friends and the next morning didn’t confront him via text about the alleged rape but instead asked to be reimbursed for her cab fare and a sex toy.

But the accuser’s attorney said the texts were taken out of context and they actually show that she never OK’d them barging into her house and forcing her into group sex, because she was too out of it to respond because the men allegedly drugged her earlier. The alleged victim’s lawyer said that Rose’s text reveal left out messages from Rose and co-defendant Ryan Allen telling the alleged victim to wake up before she said they allegedly broke in and raped her.

The text messages were released as part of a motion from Rose’s lawyers to force the unnamed accuser to hand over more texts, emails and pay stubs that defense claims she been withholding. They said that the alleged victim revealed in a deposition that she’d kept the texts between her and Rose, but the woman’s lawyers deny this.
The alleged victim said in court papers that she’s already given over all the evidence she had, and never admitted to keeping texts from the defense. She said she won’t hand over additional evidence to Rose because it would violate her attorney/client privilege and said Rose could get the texts himself.

Rose’s accuser, who is only ID’d as “Jane Doe” in court papers, sued him and his two friends last year after she said they drugged her, broke into her house and gang raped her.
The alleged victim said she dated Rose from 2011 to 2013, and during the time she said Rose pressured her into doing various sexual acts like masturbating on camera, allowing him to have sex with her friends and demanding she participate in group sex.
Then in August 2013, the woman claimed that Rose and his two friends, Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton, invited her to the NBA star’s L.A. mansion, and said someone slipped a drug into her drink with the aim of raping her.
The woman said she escaped the home with a friend but later in the evening Rose and his friends broke into her home and gang raped her while she was knocked out. The woman filed sued and is demanding $21 million in damages.
The NBA star fired back at the lawsuit saying it was nothing more than a shameless money grab. Rose denied all allegations that he raped the woman and said she was cool with everything that happened between them.
A judge from the U.S. District Court in California ordered the rape trial to begin Oct. 4 in Los Angeles and it’s expected to last eight days. However, both sides will have until August to try to settle out of court with a private mediator.
