Carlos Boozer has pleaded with a Florida judge to lower his child support payments for his three children – most likely due to his NBA checks no longer coming in – and it has reignited the nasty battle with his ex-wife who is demanding the court not to decrease her monthly checks.

Carlos and ex Cindy have a long history of breakups. She originally divorced the NBA star in 2010, following allegations that he cheated with a contestant from “The Bachelor”. The two were married for more than eight years.

Then in 2012, the two reconciled and decided to get re-married for the second time. However, once again things didn’t work out for them and Carlos filed for divorce in 2014.

According to court docs, Carlos said his wife scored a sweet settlement in the first divorce agreement. He explained per the deal he was to make certain payments monthly for her and the kids. However, the deal stated that if they were to get re-married, he wouldn’t have to make those payments anymore.

Carlos demanded that the assets in the marriage be divided unequally – with him getting the lion’s share.

The divorce was nasty, with both sides fighting each other over custody and support of their kids. Cindy even filed documents demanding she be allowed to depose a woman named Ameska Smith – who was rumored to have had an affair with Carlos during their marriage.

However, the two finally came to an agreement and the divorce became final on August 27th in Miami Court.

Carlos Boozer Tries To Lower Child Support

The final judgment granting the dissolution of their marriage – for the second time – stated that Carlos and his ex reached an agreement during mediation back in July and both parties recently signed off on the deal to make it official.

Under the deal, Cindy is to pay her own attorney fees for the divorce.

Then on March 31st, Carlos headed back to court and filed a motion to decrease his monthly child support payments to his ex-wife for their three kids, despite agreeing to the original amount in the divorce settlement.

All signs point to Carlos no longer being signed to a NBA team, and the original child support being based off his current income at that time.

Cindy clearly doesn’t agree with her ex-husband’s petition to lower her child support payments and filed docs in the case pleading with the judge to dismiss Carlos’ motion.

The judge has yet to rule on the matter.
