The Game Said $7.1 Mill Sex Abuse Suit Winner Only Got Mad When People Filmed Him Groping Her

Late last year, a jury awarded Rainey with a $7.1 million judgment after she sued The Game for sexually assaulting her on stage at an Illinois nightclub during an after-hours date while they filmed his dating reality show, “She’s Got Game.” Rainey has been trying to uphold her judgment, arguing that it’s in line with similar cases and she deserved every penny for the hell he put her through – including trashing her on social media after the alleged incident.

The Game insisted that he didn’t get a fair trial because he couldn’t attend because of emergency surgery, but the jury was never told why he didn’t show up. He also reiterated that the U.S. Federal Court of Illinois had the power to hear the case again, even though he filed an appeal.

The rapper wants the courts to grant him a new trial and reduce or eliminate the “monstrously excessive” damages that the jury awarded Rainey. His lawyers wrote that victims in other cases – like one where a 73-year-old woman was raped in a nursing home and another where a priest coerced his victim to perform oral sex – received lower payout amounts than what Rainey got.

Both sides are due back in court later this month.
