Texas. Texas. Texas. We spent the day in the beautiful border town that is El Paso and ate the best food at @ljcafe. We wondered about the wall that would firmly divide the city from Cuidad Juarez.. a city in Mexico you can almost touch. We sat and spoke to people in Texas while we watched curtains sway in the kitchen windows in the Mexican town. The prevailing thought was build this Trump style massive wall. The impact of crime and drugs on people's jobs and personal safety had pushed these people on the front lines to their limit. So we sat and listened.. to these Mexican Americans who were all for legal immigration but needed something drastic to help deal with the threats to their personal and economic safety. I think New Mexico was the greatest experience from the outside world that I have ever had. It certainly changed me for ever. Curious as it may sound, it was New Mexico that liberated me from the present era of civilization, the great era of material and mechanical development. There seemed a strange brutality in the spirit of the western coast, and I felt: O, let me get away! But the moment I saw the brilliant, proud morning shine up over the deserts of Santa Fe, something stood still in my soul, and I started to attend. There was a certain magnificence in the high-up day, a certain eagle-like royalty. In the magnificent fierce morning of New Mexico one sprang awake, a new part of the soul woke up suddenly, and the old world gave way to a new. #dhlawrence #newmexiconewlove #getwokeroadtrip

YO. I know that I am about to write a lot but please read. SPANKS A LOT. LINK IS IN MY BIO xo I am here to ask you to help young mothers and fathers who put their children before themselves when fighting breast cancer. The Pink Daisy Project is run by a young mother who had breast cancer. She realized that nearly every mother will put their child's wellbeing before their own medical expenses. A mother with choose to keep the lights on and put food in their kids lunch boxes over their own health needs. Millions are raised for the cure but very little money is given to women who live with breast cancer and face great financial burden. Every dollar raised here will go directly onto the dinner tables and into the gas tanks of young women struggling through breast cancer treatment. These women just need a little extra help coping with the financial hardships of their disease. Many are single moms. Many continue working through treatment. But with the additional costs of medications and co-pays, they find themselves worrying about supporting their family when they should be focused on their health. You can’t help but notice all the pink ribbons out there this month. For the women who already have breast cancer, the millions of dollars raised this month mean nothing. This old fat cat. Jake has been a full blown liability since day one. He has put three people in hospital, he has no claws and only one tooth but he can still make you bleed. I have to put him in a cage when people come over. All my friends and family have at least one "Jake scar." He has been banned by several vets. He almost scooped my best friend's eye right out of her socket. And I have him. Forever. And all I can do is love him to pieces. And in his old age, when he is alone with me I have never met a more needy loving sweet natured creature. He leads blind Frank around the house and always makes sure Frank eats first and gets the best spot to nap on the couch. And really can I blame an Alberta born cat for hating giant strangers that walk into his house and touch him without asking?
