Yara Shahidi “Blacki-sh” Spinoff To Be Titled “Grown-ish”
Our girl Yara Shahidi is making major moves. The woke and witty actress who plays Zoey Johnson on ABC’s “Black-ish” is all the way officially getting her own spinoff. Not only that, it’s got a super catchy title; “Grown-ish.” This comes after it was originally titled “College-ish.”
The folks at BlackTree TV got the drop on the series that follows Zoey as she matriculates through college.
“It’s now called Grown-ish,” said show creator Kenya Barris. “We start the writers room Monday. Me and Yara have been in casting, looking for the best, brightest and newest faces. We have some people that we’re really excited about.”
“Grown-ish” will also star black-ish’s Deon Cole and Yara and Deon will concurrently appear on both shows.
