Since launching her Mint Swimwear line several years ago, Draya Michele has faced flak for everything from the lack of diversity in her models, to the shortage of available sizes for plus size women and Draya has only continued to meet her challenges head on…

The reality star turned designer and actress now is flexing her eye for talent, hand-selecting the very young (17) and relatively unknown model Kiara Pike for her newest campaign.

I have been trying to organize a shoot with Kiara for the last six months,” Draya told BOSSIP via statement.” We went back-and-forth via DM on Instagram weekly because it was important for me to let her know that I hadn’t forgotten about her and still had an interest in shooting her. I think she’s absolutely gorgeous and I love the fact that she is undiscovered and anything that I can do in my power to help her reach her modeling goals I’m down to do.
