Singer Accused Of Not Paying Uncle Sam
She’s just dropped a new Christmas album, and now we might know why.
Fantasia Barrino, whose new album, “Christmas After Midnight,” hit stores in October, is accused of owing the federal government big time.
The IRS has slapped the singer with a federal tax lien for nearly $47,000, according to public records obtained by BOSSIP.
The feds filed the lien against Barrino in Los Angeles County, alleging she now owes a total of $46,930 in back taxes on her income.
It’s not the first time the mom of one has run afoul of the tax man. In 2015, the IRS said she owed $92,837, but last year, public records show that she cleared that debt.
The feds don’t mess around when it comes to collecting taxes and can seize her mansion in North Carolina or other assets to pay the tax debt.
