Founder and former dancer Erin Carpenter said she decided to create Nude Barre in 2011 after growing frustrated with the shades of “nude” for sale in most retail stores.

The tights come in both plus and children’s sizes, and although the tights and undergarments are about $18 – more than double what hosiery normally goes for – Carpenter said that the product will last up to two years.
“We are really focused on getting rid of the myth that beauty is one size or one color,” Carpenter said.
